NAP0099 - Field Marshal Kutuzov and the Russian Imperial Staff - Borodino 1812

** Each figures comes with his name imprinted along with our logo on the bottom of the figure base to assist in identification.**

We felt that when releasing our Russians, we would start right at the top of the order of battle for Borodino 1812 and bring you a superb rendition of Field-Marshal Kutuzov and the Russian Imperial Staff.   This six figure special collectors set includes Field-Marshal Kutuzov, General Bennigsen, Colonel Kaisarov, Major General Kutaisov, Major General Yermolov, and Lieutenant General Raevsky.   When putting this set together, we imagined an early morning meeting at Kutuzov's HQ behind the village of Gorki.  Kutuzov, accurately modeled with his one eye, is pointing out towards the Great Redbout which General Raevsky is charged with defending with his VII Corps.  Raevsky also points off to his position, telling Kutuzov he has deployed the Russian army too far to the north and that Napoleon's main weight will fall on his left.  He recognizes that his redoubt is the center hinge of the Russian line of battle and knows he has a long day ahead of him.  General Kutaisov listens intently seeking out places along the front to deploy his artillery reserve, completely unaware that he will soon fall in the battle and that the Russian artillery superiority will be wasted on this day because no one will take over his command to order the batteries forward.  Yermolov stares out intently, watching Eugene's corps of French and Italians deploy opposite the village of Borodino.  He will be the last in the present company to see Kutaisov alive.  General Benninsen, of noble German birth and the wily veteran of the campaign in Poland in 1807 ending with the crushing defeat at Friedland, has recently been appointed the Chief of Staff of the United Russian Army.  He stands passively now, experience telling him that the there is little more to do than to await the French onslaught.  After defeat at Borodino, he will argue vehemently for a final stand before the gates of Moscow.  Finally, duty officer Colonel Kaisarov scribbles down additional last minute dispatches to the various corps of the United Russian Armies.  The day will be the single bloodiest of the Napoleonic Wars and will seal the fate of Moscow.  With the superb sculpting and painting you've come to expect from First Legion, NAP0099 Kutuzov and the Russian Imperial Staff will make an excellent and seldom produced addition to any serious Napoleonic toy soldier collection.
